Gorky Gonzalez Ceramic Tableware

Gorky Gonzales is a well known, celebrated artist from Guanajuato, Mexico and we have the great opportunity to sell some of his amazing hand-painted ceramic tableware at our store. Don’t know much about him? Here’s a bit of History 101 for you!

About Gorky Gonzalez

As the son of sculptor Rodolfo Gonzales, Gorky worked alongside with his father, studying sculpting and the casting of creative objects in bronze and wax. After attending the school of Arts and the Allende Institute, he decided to pursue his strong passion of ceramics in Guanajuato. Talk about dedication and commitment! Creating original pieces for about 40 years now, Gonzales has received much recognition for his delicate dinnerware and quirky showpieces. These pieces, produced with a double glaze technique, majolica, each possess a unique design. Many of these designs include images of plants, animals, or folkloric characters. His work is not only a favorite of artists and designers in Mexico, but all over the world. If you ever visit the great city of Guanajuato, be sure to visit his retail store along with Gorky’s Studio! Can’t make it? No worries, just visit Melissa Guerra’s store to get a taste of Gorky Gonzales Ceramic Tableware!
